La Fonda on Main

San Antonio is home to a lot of history and La Fonda on Main embodies that. It originally opened in 1932, making it the city's oldest Mexican restaurant. The menu includes many Tex-Mex options and is open for lunch and dinner. There is also an opportunity for brunch on the weekends. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor eating at its hacienda-style location.

Scratch Kitchen

Not only does Scratch Kitchen have a delicious menu but it is set in a historical home. The restaurant is open for lunch on the weekdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu includes sandwiches, soup and salads. Scratch Kitchen also offers catering options. The restaurant was originally in Edinburg but moved to San Antonio. The restaurant is a family endeavor as the baker started it with her father.

Barbaro

Pizza is the main dish at this restaurant but the menu offers so much more. Offerings include seafood, salad, charcuterie and cheese boards, pastas and desserts. You can partake in the dinner menu from 4 p.m. to midnight or have some brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the weekends. Barbaro has a happy hour from 4-6 p.m.  Call ahead at 210-320-2261.
